One of the best (and worst) things about being addicted to Instagram is that you’re constantly surrounded and exposed to new trends and inspiration. I love seeing people being creative with designs and renovating and redecorating spaces. However, it does mean that I often fall in love with things and looks, and want them for myself. If money and time was no object then this wouldn’t be an issue, but it is so I often have to covet over things rather than have them myself. So, I thought I would share a couple things and trends that I’m lusting over right now!
This counts as a lust for now as until we have our bedroom redecorated in the indefinite future, I don’t have panelling. I love all kinds of panelling, from tongue and groove, panelling on the existing walls etc. Below are a few stunning examples.
Mango Wood Furniture
I love a distressed wood, but that often means an industrial or vintage piece of furniture which can be limiting. Enter, Mango wood. It’s got a beautiful muted tone which gives you the lighter colour distressed or older wood can have, but it still has a lovely grain.
I mean this mirror is literally iconic, right? The shape, the beading detail, the colours it comes in are all absolutely perfect. I would love to own an original one day but will have to make do with a lookalike for our bedroom.
The entire Observer book collection
I currently only have 3, and unfortunately, don’t think I will be collecting the rest anytime soon. There is a lot of them and most people seem to sell them individually so it would be a pretty penny to buy a shelf full. I love the simple colours and lettering on the spines, and of course the vintage and faded nature of them.
Joining the Darkside
I love love love dark greys and navys, the likes of downpipe and railings which are so on trend right now. I just can’t really see where I could put in in my house right now except for when I next decorate a room. In the summer I’m planning on giving our loo a makeover so maybe we’ll enter the dark side then.
Whats on your lust list?
