Laying the Christmas Table

It’s our turn to host Christmas lunch this year and, apart from the responsibility of doing the cooking, I’m really looking forward to it because it means I get to dress the table ready for the festive feast of the year. Going with the same theme as my wrapping, I am going for a nordic themed table this year, with suitable amounts of foliage and whites. As we don’t have a dining room, but chose to have two lounges instead, for an occasion like this we move the sofa and coffee table out of the snug and upstairs/ into the kitchen, and move the dining table (and borrow my mums dining table) into the snug, so there’s plenty of room for us all to sit. Because this isn’t the easiest thing to do just for a ‘practise go’, I made a pretend table to practise my set up for the big day. I will simply recreate this on the tables on the big day!
